Last chance meet 2026: Warmup, dynamics + strides, Mile (4:40), 4x400 (???), cooldown I guess what i learned from this last chance was to take more of a risk. I honestly played it safe in my mile, and ran the same time as my pr, unfortunately failing to go sub 4:40 Overall, the season went great. My improvement is something i cherish, going from 4:58 last year to 4:40, from 11 and change at the beginning of xc to sub 10. Im excited for next year, to test the limits of what im capable of.

Wsc outdoor 2026: Warmup, dynamics+ strides, 3200 (10:09), cooldown I wasnt feeling good going into the race. On wednesday and thursday I had what i now think were the first signs of a cold brewing. My theory is that my brain was suppressing the symptoms because my nerves were building for the race. Also AP testing this week just added to my overall energy expenditure this week. On the start line, however, i couldnt feel anything but the adrenaline. During the race, i didnt feel sick, but i didnt feel great either. The race got out slow, and it stayed slow for the most part. I felt like it was harder than normal for me to push myself. It was like there was a wall blocking me from speeding up to catch the guy in first. Every time i tried, i would immediately fall back into my old rhythm. I also found it hard to kick at the end of the race. Maybe i was just off that day. My mentality was all over the place before the race. I thought i had a chance to win, but the doubts were also haunting me. There was the angel telling me, "you can win, just go for it," and the devil saying "youre not feeling so good." I tried to separate myself from both and just calm down. I see this race a both a win and learn situation. The win is that i held it together on a day when i wasnt feeling great to score some points for the f/s team. Heres what i learned: 1. Remember to hydrate no matter what. I wasnt drinking enough before the race, and 2 laps in my mouth was a desert. 2. Stay relaxed. I think i could always do better at this, but on thursday i felt tighter than i have recently. 3. Organize your thoughts a day or two before a race. My mind felt jumbled and messy before the race, and it distracted me. Next time i will try planning ahead for what i will THINK not just what i will DO. It was incredible to see us win conference on the varsity level. Energy was so high near the end when the 200 and 4x4 pulled us into the lead. Good job to everyone! Now... back to the mines.
