Threshold 800, 2x400, 4x200. Felt really good for the workout but after I was not doing so hot. Splits were 2:45, 59, 58, 27.5 avg.

Sectionals Mile. This was a great race a big PR for me. During the Warm up I felt amazing and I knew I was fit enough to run a fast time. We went out pretty hard in 63 but it didn’t feel super quick and I was able to stay connected with the pack. Next lap was pretty slow in a 69 and going into lap 3, I knew I just had to hang on. Coach told me I shouldn’t let any gaps form and stay engaged throughout the whole race and I kept thinking this in lap 3, usually my slowest lap. For the final lap, I just continued to press and give it everything I had. I knew how mad and disappointed I would be at myself if I let up, and that helped carry me to the finish line. Overall great race and happy for everyone who was able to qualify. Excited for the things to come. 4:27.8

3x broken 800. 600s were at goal mile pace and the 200s were at around 800 pace. Splits were 1:40, 31, 1:41, 30, 1:41, 31. Solid workout.

3200 at conference. Going into the race, I knew I wanted to put myself in position to win and I wanted to sit on the pack until around 400 to go. During the race, I got out in 4th or 5th with Elliot and we gradually began to move up throughout the race. With 800 to go, the pace picked up drastically and I knew I had to start moving. Me and Elliot pulled up next to Ryan Morton from dgn and we kept pressing. With 400 to go, my legs were very lactic but I knew I had more in the tank and I did not want to get out kicked. Thanks to all the speed work we do, I was able to find more than the other guys and was able to come out with the win. It was exciting to see everyone else run great as well and it was cool how we weren’t able to sweep all the events from the 400 to the 3200. Overall, great meet.

Single B premeet. Did two 400s after the run to help find the pace for the 2 mile. 72, 72.

12x200 split into 3 sets of 4. Averaged 31, 30, 29 for the 3 sets. Felt pretty controlled and easy.

Ran in the tread while watching the NCAA XC championship to make up for not being able to finish watty yesterday.

Horrible watty today. Cramped up really bad at mile 5 and had to walk to the bluff road lot and wait for miller. Had a lot of time to reflect while I waited and here’s what I learned. 1. Cramping sucks 2. I need to make sure I’m hydrating better. Doubling later hopefully.

Amazing McCarthy today. Started with the 4x8 and I’m really happy we were able to break the record. Was able to get a big PR of 2:03.0 and put us in a good spot. In the mile, the goal was to hang on and let the pack carry me to a pr. I think I was able to execute that well and I was able to drop my pr to a 4:33.2. It was really exciting to see a lot of great races and a lot of prs tonight and I know we will keep it rolling into the championship meets.
