Under the Lights. Definitely not the race I planned or pictured happening. Kind of let the number 1 seed get to my head and went out guns blazing thinking I should lead from the start. Unfortunately I failed to realize that is NOT the move in a mile (unless you’re hella raw) and I died like crazy. Crazy to think that’s my last mile but happy to have taken a risk and fail than never take one at all and wonder what could have been.

McCarthy. Very surreal race. Instead of letting pain and not being on the right pace control me, I just ripped it and tried to have contact with the pack for as long as I could. Very happy to finally have a good race and get a huge mile PR. Pumped to see the rest of the boys all have good races and PR’s. Shout out to Will for breaking 5, the kid did it.

7x300. Good workout. Lactic was definitely starting to hit near the end. This workout went a lot better than last weeks. 46, 46, 46, 47, 46, 47, 48.

Pete Struck. Just another overall mid/below average race. Couldn’t find it in me to push any harder than I did. Really wanted to try and stick with that huge DGN pack but couldn’t hang on after a mile. Not really sure what happened to me and why I’m going slower this meet than at Saint Charles but maybe had something to do with the kind of the wild week I had regarding college decisions and using a lot of my emotional energy. Hoping to bounce back next week at McCarthy. Workout after for 20 mins of 45s tempo/15s jog.

Mile tempo, 2x400 at 1600, mile tempo, 2x600 at 1600, mile tempo. Was doing good until the wheels fell off during the 600s. Definitely made too many rookies mistakes today as a senior with wearing a long sleeve instead of a t-shirt, not hydrating well today and not bringing out my water, and forgetting my hyperions for the first time this year for a workout. Also probably just exhausted from the last 2 long prom weekends. Gonna do a lot of recovery today 😴 5:40, 70, 70, 5:37, 1:50, 1:52, 5:50.

Red Devil Invite. Decent race. Tried to get out in 60/61 and see what could happen. Unfortunately slowed down a lot more than I would have liked and was fighting the last 100m. Small PR. Stough tempo after.
