I was pretty happy with my race; I felt like it was a good way to end the season. I decided to try a new strategy for myself and start slower while ramping up speed throughout the race instead of a plateu strategy which I usually do. I also tried a multi-stage kick increasing speeds in segments starting from 1200m until the finish. It was inspiring seeing people cheer me on and running with my teammates. I’m excited for next cross country season. I also enjoyed running a 4x400 and getting a PR, I believe.

800, 400, 400. 2 sets. This workout was really hard on me and I really pushed to get the most out of it. By the end I felt like I was going to throw up, but that may have to do partly with the weather. I think the workout really helps, and I felt really good about it afterwords.

I did 3 mile tempos. (Treadmill) I did 6:58 , 6:45 , and 6:45. 1 mile in warmup/cooldown. My legs are pretty sore from skiing and I’m overall tired from vacation which affected my performance. I felt way more tired than usual. Despite this I had a good time.

4 x 400 sets at 5k, 2 mile, mile, all out pace. Felt good during the first two, got really hard during the mile pace, and ran out of fuel for the last 4.

I thought I had a great final race of the indoor season. Finally got to run the mile and was not disappointed in myself, especially because of my huge PR. I hope to get down to the 5:10 range end of outdoor season. During the race I felt like I spent too much energy at the start tying to get from the back of the pack near the front, and even more passing on the curves. Hearing my teammates cheer me on gave me the courage to push to maintain.

I didn’t break my goal of 12 minutes for the 2 mile today, but I’m not going to let 4 seconds ruin my thoughts on a race. I broke my mile pr in a 2 mile race, but the 2nd mile I really paid for it. It was really hard, especially in the middle part that felt like it would go on forever, but I tried my best to focus on the race. I had fun running with Kyle for most of it too. I’m especially excited to run the mile soon and see what time I can get.
