Single B and strides, excited for the meet tomorrow.
April 27, 2026, 8:30 p.m. • Run
1600 tempo, 2x400, 1600 tempo, 2x600, 1600 tempo. Workout was pretty hard but I was able to hit most of my goal times, with only the 600s being too slow. Splits: 5:53, 75, 75, 5:53, 2:04, 1:58, 5:51

Hinsdale South meet, ran 5:03 in the mile and 2:20 in the 800. For the mile, I definitely think that I could have gone faster and had a decent amount left in the tank at the end. I got out too slow and was afraid to make contact early on. However, I’m not too upset about it because I couldn’t really tell what pace I was at. Definitely room for improvement, but it was better than my last couple of miles and I am confident that I’m getting back to where I was during indoor and that my next race will be even better. As for the 800, I was pretty happy, as I felt like I paced it well and only ran a slow time due to soreness from the mile.

4 sets of 600 then 300, I was able to keep my times consistent throughout and match my averages from last time. Felt a decent amount easier than the first time that we did it. Splits: 1:54, 53, 1:52, 53, 1:53, 53, 1:50, 51.

Mile at Bud Mohns, ran 5:10. I went into this race with the goal of not making the same mistakes as last week but ended up running even slower. I was able to stay awake and at a good pace during the second lap, but I didn’t push enough during the third lap and lost the pack, making me struggle more against the wind. Overall I’m super disappointed with how I ran because I know that I had the opportunity to run a lot better and I know that I am capable of doing better. Going to use this as a learning experience and motivation for the rest of the season.

800 time trial, 2x1600 tempo and 2x200 at 800 pace with 200 jog rest. Ran a 2:15 to the 800 which is a six second PR, I should have started kicking earlier in the race but overall I’m satisfied with how I ran. As for the mile, I went 6:03 and 6:12. Not sure what happened during the second mile, I just started feeling terrible and could not keep pace. Ran 35 for both 200s which is a little off pace.

Hot Garywood run, feeling ready to race tomorrow.
April 13, 2026, 8:30 a.m. • Run
Really hard workout, 2 sets of hard effort 800, 400, 400. Did the first 800 too fast and tied my PR, so I was super lactic for basically the whole workout and fell off a lot. Splits: 2:21, 69, 74, 2:48, 74, 77
April 12, 2026, 3:30 a.m. • Run
Exhibition mile at Saint Charles East, ran 5:07. I got out too slowly and fell asleep during the second lap, and I wasn’t able to make up for the lost ground in the second half. Very disappointed in how I ran because I know that I am capable of running much faster. Going to work to make sure that my next race goes better than my last few have. 20 minutes of 45/15 after the race, dint feel too terrible.
April 8, 2026, 10 p.m. • Run
First outdoor meet of the season, ran the 800 (2:22), 400 (64), and 4x400 (65.9). I feel pretty good about my 800 but not very happy with my 400s. I was only a second off of my 800 PR, but I’m not too upset because I got slowed down a lot by the wind at the end. However, I think the soreness from the 800 got into my head too much for the 400s, so I wasn’t able to run as well as I would have liked to.
April 6, 2026, 8:30 p.m. • Run
First progression run in a while, I was doing well and felt pretty good until my stomach started cramping up like crazy during the last mile. 4x200 afterwards at 34, 35, 34, and 34. Splits: 7:20, 7:00, 6:45, 6:00, 5:45, 5:55 Total time was 41:15
