Bud mohns invite 4x800 last leg 2:22. Fueled well, got a lot of sleep this whole week, so I felt I was prepared. Blood sugars were just a tad bit too high. Turned on the activity mode on my insulin pump too early made it go high. Next time I’ll make sure not to do it until an hour before the race. Can’t be too upset about the race due to the conditions and that I was in the middle of nowhere the whole time. One thing that kupres and snee pointed out to me was that I was tensing up too much during the race. It is definitely something to work on during the workouts through the next couple of weeks. Overall, it was good to hold it together to secure 3rd for our relay.

Chill run took it easy making sure I recover well. Blood sugars have been lower on the runs recently, I think it’s the heat which can cause my blood sugar to go low. Gonna make some changes.

800 time trial 2:15.84. Got out in a great spot through the first 200. From 300-500 I could feel myself struggling to keep the pace. At 500 I started losing the pack fell to around 6th or 7th. 600 I was in around the same spot and I was thinking to myself that it was over and I was gonna miss the top 4. At that point I finally got my stride back and started picking up. Final 150 kick was insane, dropped 3 or 4 guys to get 3rd. Biggest lesson learned was to just keep myself in the race because It’s always possible to turn it around. Proud of this race, and I’m ready to run even faster on Saturday. Workout was hard, didn’t exactly hit my times but ran hard.

Newberry park workout. 1st set 2:32 73 84. Cut short due to some medical problems no second set. I’m right there, I feel like I’m in really good shape, so I know the time drops are gonna come once my blood sugars are good. Today’s problem may have been out of my control, but overall I need to take some more responsibility about my health. First 2 outdoor meets I have not made good choices for my blood sugar. I had good intentions, but ended up eating something out of fear of having a low blood sugar, which made it go too high. Gonna make a plan for the meet on Wednesday so that I can run my best.

Salt creek trail to prairie path to glen ellyn and back with Otis and Eric. Had a lot of fun, got sum bagels aswell.

Meet day 1600 5:20. Got out hard enough, but had a bad 600-1200 that put me too far away from the pack. Kicked really hard, got 2 guys in the end. Saved too much tho, a lil disappointed. 20 mins of 45 on 15 off was good.

First outdoor meet 800 400 4x4. The 800 I truly fell asleep in the start, split a 70 which was way too slow. Ended with 2;30. Mentally needed to be more locked in for that race, I felt I had way more at the end of the race. 400 waterfall start I fixed that tho ran a 63.32 which was a pr. Got out crazy hard. 4x4 was straight pain. Ran first leg 65.8, lactic hit around 200. One of the most fun meets, a good way to start outdoors.

First run in Rome on the treadmill. Got some easy miles in. No gym at the hotel so had to pay for a day pass at this gym called heaven. The gym was really nice, very similar to Lifetime in oakbrook. Still gonna try to convince my parents to let me run on the streets, I think it would be cool.
