Getting close to race day! Felt pretty good today - did 2 mile warm up, then 6 Farrell’s (1 min at 7:30 pace then 1 min at 10:00 pace) and then cool down at 12:00 pace until I hit 4 mi

Did my fartleks today. 1 mi warm up, 4x 2min at 8:20 pace followed by 90sec recovery jog, then did cooldown until I hit 3 miles. Finding that it’s much better for me mentally to break up the run into different parts vs running at the same pace the whole time (at least on the treadmill, don’t have enough ourdoor running experience yet to compare)

First 2.5 miles felt great - pushed speed a little bit. Did first mile warm up at 11:40, the next 1.5 miles around 10:15 pace, and then half mile cooldown

I am definitely starting to feel some real progress. First mile was an easy warm up, went about 11:40 pace. Did 6 min tempo at 10:00 pace, then recovered for 2 minutes at 12:00 pace. Then I had way more energy than I expected and I ran the last ~1.4 miles at a 10:30 average pace

Did Barry’s Bootcamp this morning which was 50% running and 50% strength on the floor. It was very hard but we did it!

This was by far my most enjoyable run so far. We’re visiting New York for the weekend and staying with Daniel and Jesse in our old apartment. Ran down to Brooklyn bridge park (did a 2.5ish mile loop that Zach and I used to do when we lived here) and then came back up and ran the promenade. Wind and elevation definitely impacted my pace today. Was running against the wind for a majority of the run which definitely slowed me down but was probably good practice for me since most of my runs lately have been on a treadmill. Overall feeling good!!

Today was my “easy run” but it was still quite difficult. First 2 miles were relatively slow for me but I sped it up in the last mile and a half. Finished my last .25mi at a 9:55 pace

Today’s run was pretty challenging. My legs were already tired during the warm up mile. Powered through the fartleks- went just slightly faster than Emmett suggested (9:23 pace) and then 12min pace for my minutes off. Hardest part of the run was the cooldown. That mile felt so long but I made it!
