Conference meet, the most painful race I have ever ran by far and one of the first ever XC races where I got out too hard and ended up paying for it. After I hit the 1st mile mark, I went from feeling completely fine to completely exhausted for some reason. The 2nd mile felt like I was running in slow motion. Time trial yesterday, 11:17 for 3200m. Only missed my PR by 20 seconds which is not bad for me. I thought I got out too hard at the start of the race since the first 200m was 37. But during the 3rd lap, I saw that people around me were slowing down. I passed a couple of people after the 4th lap and felt very tired at this point. For the last 2 laps, I was completely alone and out of breath. I felt myself slowing down but I kept running. Overall, I think I ran pretty well for the time trial and hopefully I can run conference a similar way.
