Tough workout. 4 x 300 with 90s rest and then 3 x 300. Splits were roughly 44.8, 44.8, 44.9, 45, 44.6, 45.2, 49. I definitely felt the lactic buildup in the last rep and it was definitely a struggle to keep going. I think this was a good quality workout.

Solid race at lakes. I got out 58 and probably felt the most relaxed I’ve ever felt during a race. I was pretty far ahead of the rest of the pack early on so I was trying my best to go off of feel since I couldn’t tell how fast I was going. I ended up splitting 2:02 which is 5 seconds faster than I ran at the Antioch meet. But I do think I left too much in the tank. I didn’t feel too tired post race and recovered pretty quick compared to usual. I think this is a good sign that my fitness is developing well and that supplementing with bi carb is working. I am excited to see how the next few races will go. Also I’m super glad how we performed as a relay and on winning the overall team score.

Hard workout. 1600 tempo at 5:40. 2x400, splits were 54.5, 57.8. Then 6x200 but I only did 2 at 35 pace. Definitely a mixed workout. I ran a pr in the 400 so I am happy about that and I think I ran the next 400 a little too slow. I tapped out of the workout early though since I wasn’t feeling too good. I feel better now though.

Fairview into single b. Feel pretty fatigued post race but soreness isn’t that bad.

Very solid meet. 2 PRs, 1:28.3 in the 600 and I believe 55 in the 400. I definitely still need to work on my positioning. I had to run in the outer lanes a good amount of the race. But I made the move at the right time and committed. Was able to move up to 2nd and finish with next to Bart and Joey. I think I can definitely go faster in the 400. I didn’t really kick or make a move and I know I can run faster. Compared to last week I’m super glad with how I raced and I feel my much more confident going into lakes next Saturday.

Threshold 5 x 800 then 4 x 200. Splits were 2:44, 2:43, 2:43, 2:40, 2:40 for threshold. 200 splits were 29.9, 29.2, 28.9, 28.3. Ice bath and stretch after.

Not a great first race. Ran 2:07 in the 800. Prep went well the week leading up and I don’t think there were any issues there. I also felt like my fitness is there based on the last few workouts. I think my main issue was not getting myself in a good position. I got boxed into lane 2 from the first 200 of the race and didn’t take the initiative to move in. By that point I was just mentally checked out the rest of the race and didn’t try hard enough to move up. Another issue I had was being way too nervous and panicked. I ran off of emotion and not strategy. I have motivation knowing the problem is mostly mental and I have much more confidence going into next weeks meet now I have a race in.

Premeet cross train. Little 4 was fun to watch.

Chill threshold. 6x800. Averaged 2:43 per rep.

Challenging workout. 600m, 400m, then 6x200m at race pace. Went 1:29, 1:00, and averaged around 32-33 for the 200s. I felt pretty fit aerobically, the main challenge was the lactic in my legs. This workout was definitely a big confidence booster going into Saturday.
