Tough workout at harvester. 2.5 mile warmup, 10 min tempo, 4x1200, 2.5 cooldown and weights. My splits for the 4x1200 repeats were 3:57, 3:58, 4:02, 4:04. I ran up with Elliot and Cole for most of the workout but fell back a good amount at the end. I think I am still recovering from Richard springs as well the higher mileage week. Going to get a lot of rest for the tempo fast this Saturday and planning on doing a Friday morning run.

Richard spring was a decent race for me. I ran 16:11 and splits were (5:02, 5:33, 5:35) place was 216. It is about a 40 second pr for me but the time isn’t important for me. I am not where I want to be on the team for place and my mentality as of now. I have the problem of not being focused on competing and just trying to get the race over with. It is a problem I’ve always had for cross country races, progressions, and long runs. But I was able to work upon it this race. I got out harder than red devil going 5:02, held on for longer, and started to kick 300m earlier. I know my fitness is there and if I can focus on competing and working on that 1.5-2.5 mile mark on the next few races I know I can run to my potential. I am not satisfied with how I ran today but it is progress.

Best progression yet at waterfall today, pretty sure I’ve never split faster than 5:40 in one so this was great. Splits were 7:10, 7:01, 6:50, 6:30, 6:00, 5:52, 5:35, 5:25. Ran together with Justin the whole way and he helped push me towards the end. I felt decently relaxed throughout. This workout gives me good confidence going into Richard spring especially since my last 3 miles were as fast as my race at klm and felt better during the workout out.
