Bud mohns intive 2026:
15 warmup, 3200 (10:09 PR), 25 min cooldown, was very hungry so ate, 20 min to finish cooldown
My preparation for this meet was decent but not great. I ate enough carbs the night before and morning of. My sleep this week was pretty good with exception of last night. I got only around 7 hours of sleep because i went to pat methenys show, but i think it didnt take too much of a toll. According to Nickolas rossner, sleep the day before is less important than 2-3 days leading up to a race so i wasnt too worried.
Tactically, i think I raced pretty good. Coach's advice to tuck in and let someone else take the wind was really helpful. I was surprised to see my mile spilts though: 5:09, 5;00. Such a big negative split means that my fitness is in pretty good place. During the race i repeated to myself "stay relaxed" and it was definitely helpful. Since my unsuccessful conference where i was straining a lot, i have improved my form a ton.
Overall, very pleased with the meet. This was definitely a breakthrough for me, and it just gives me so much more confidence for the rest of the season.
Also just great to have fun with the team
