Wsc indoor confrence 2026:
15 min warmup, dynamics, strides, 3200 (10:33), 19 min cooldown
I went out in the first mile around 5:02, meaning my second was around 5:30. Though in hindsight i went out faster than i should have, im happy i took the risk because i know i am capable. I think the bigger problem was that when i lost the pack, my mentality broke along with my running form. This was a pretty bad race, but you win or you learn. I learned yesterday:
1. Dont let the nerves take you over - they only carry you for the first few laps
2. Carb load but dont overload - this didnt make or break my race but next time, i will try eating a little less beforehand
3. Dont strain when it hurts - i too often do this in races, it was very problematic this race
These next few weeks, my main focus of improvement will be not straining my upper body. It has been a bad habit for a while and has really shown this season.
I think my physical preparation for the meet was solid with sleep, hydration, and nutrition. I thought my mental preparation was good before the race. I was pretty confident, but i was also anxious and nervous and i let that get to me.
It was great to see the sophomore team win the meet. Franses and akhil had great races and im really happy for them. Good luck to the guys racing today
