I must admit it feels still very strange knowing we aren’t going to Peoria, strange in a kind of silencing way. It hurts. I think it hurts though because I know how hard every single person on our team worked to get us to that unified goal we had on the board when we signed our names together. As I told the guys on the cool down I’m glad we made a final stand and put it out on the line as a team not just of 7 runners but as the 2024 Hinsdale Central Red Devils, because although in the end it didn’t change the outcome I ran my last 800 solely fueled by the love and respect I have for this HCXC program and my teammates. I don’t like the fact that we didn’t make it to State and I don’t think I ever will, but what I do love is that we have an opportunity to learn from this and build on it. I know I have a lot to reflect and learn from and I’m lucky enough to not only have the NXR meet, but also one more Track season to suit up as a Red Devil with my brothers. Opportunity lies ahead, and I can promise in absolute certainty from my heart that come track season my 100% dedication and devotion to this team will be there. Couldn’t have been more proud to run next to any other group of guys on that line. Looking forward to NXR. ❤️🏃‍♂️
